A new trailer for Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw has been released and just like the first trailer from February, this one is also action-packed.
The film, starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, is the first in a series of Fast and Furious spin-off movies. Those hoping for the flick to go back to the roots of the franchise will be disappointed, as it will be more focused on action than it will be on the cars themselves.
The first trailer revealed that a McLaren 720S would be featured in the film and this new clip offers a look at more McLarens, including at least three Sports Series models. We also spotted a classic Mini and a number of outlandish off-roaders while watching the clip.
The basic premise of the film will see Luke Hobbs, played by Dwayne Johnson, and Deckard Shaw, played by Jason Statham, doing battle with Idris Elba’s character Brixton who just so happens to be genetically modified and capable of superhuman things, including being bulletproof. As you probably already guessed, the film won’t exactly be based in reality.
In addition to Johnson, Statham, and Elba, Hobbs & Shaw includes actors like Venessa Kirby, Eiza Gonzalez, and Eddie Marsan. The film’s director is David Leitch, the man behind Deadpool 2.
Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw will premiere in theatres on August 2, 2019. Neither Johnson or Statham will be featured in Fast 9.
