Sebastien Loeb and the Peugeot 208 T16 may no longer hold the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb record, but the bespoke racer remains one of the most iconic performance machines built in recent memory.
Following the vehicle’s record-setting run at the world’s most famous hillclimb event, it was acquired by Loeb. Although he could have easily retired it and locked it away in his garage, the nine-times world rally champion still takes it to various events, like this hillclimb in France.

Peugeot’s iconic race car is powered by a bi-turbo V6 derived from the unit in the 908 endurance racer. All up, the 208 T16 pumps out 875 hp and weighs just 875 kg (1929 lbs), giving it a power-to-weight ratio of 1 horsepower per kilogram. All this power is sent to all four wheels via a sequential transmission and, as one would expect, performance is mind-boggling.
At the time of launching the 208 T16 back in 2013, Peugeot said it could rocket to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 1.8 seconds, hit 200 km/h (124 mph) from a standstill in 4.8 seconds and top out at 240 km/h (149 mph). Six years later, it’s lost not one bit of its appeal, as you can see in the video right below.
