Toyota used the New York Auto Show to introduce the 2020 Highlander and Yaris Hatchback, but it appears a number of other vehicles are on the horizon.

Speaking to Motor Trend, Toyota’s North American Group Vice President and General Manager said the company will introduce 12 all-new or redesigned models over the course of three years. Jack Hollis didn’t go into specifics, but the list includes a handful of models that have already been introduced. Among them are the aforementioned Highlander and Yaris as well as the Corolla, Corolla Hybrid, RAV4 and Supra.

The remaining six vehicles are a bit of a mystery, but the executive has previously said an all-new Tundra is coming soon. Hollis declined to say when the redesigned truck will arrive, but he did confirm the company is developing a new platform which will eventually underpin the next-generation Tundra, Tacoma, 4Runner and Sequoia. While the executive was tight-lipped on specifics, previous reports have suggested the Tundra will be introduced next year as a 2021 model.

While it’s likely the Tundra is one of the six remaining all-new or redesigned models, less is certain about the last five. However, spy photographers have already snapped the next-generation Sienna and it’s likely a new Sequoia would arrive shortly after the Tundra.

Hollis also suggested there was room under the RAV4 for another crossover besides the CH-R. There’s a $4,505 price gap between the two models and the executive once again admitted the CH-R’s lack of all-wheel drive is hurting sales.

This could suggest the company is considering an all-wheel drive model to slot between the CH-R and RAV4. Nothing is official as of yet, but Toyota introduced the FT-4X concept at the 2017 New York Auto Show and the concept’s chief designer has previously said it was 75% percent production ready.
