The M850i Coupe is a rising star among tuning companies, with Belgium’s BR-Performance being among the latest to offer a performance boost for BMW‘s grand tourer.

The Stage 1 upgrade squeezes an additional 150 PS (148 hp / 110 kW) and 100 Nm (74 lb-ft) of torque from the already powerful 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8. That may not seem like much, but the output is now 680 PS (670 hp / 500 kW) and 850 Nm (627 lb-ft) of torque.

We won’t make the obvious connection to certain supercars – only the range-topping member of the new 8-Series Coupe family, the M8, which is expected to arrive with more than 600 horsepower. Reports speak about close to 620 hp produced by the V8 that’s shared with the latest M5, and a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) number of just a little over 3 seconds.

Unfortunately, we don’t know how quick this M850i is with the extra oomph, as no performance specs were provided, but we could look at another tuned petrol-powered 8-Series Coupe for reference, which comes from G-Power. That car has as much as 670 PS (661 hp / 493 kW) and 890 Nm (656 lb-ft) of torque and is said to need 3.1 seconds to hit 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standstill, while maxing out at 320 km/h (199 mph).

The stock M850i Coupe, on the other hand, can sprint to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.7 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).

To show what their car can do, the Belgium tuner put it on the dyno, with the video being one mouse-click away.
