Porsche is apparently looking to bridge the gap between the first-ever Cayenne Coupe and its more exotic cousin, the Lamborghini Urus.

How are they planning to do so? According to Jonny Lieberman on Instagram, who’s quoting a Porsche insider with knowledge on the matter, by stuffing the V8 engine that powers the Italian super SUV into the Cayenne Coupe.

Given that both vehicles share the same Volkswagen Group underpinnings, this should be a relatively easy task, if it’s indeed going to happen.

The 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 found in the Urus delivers 650 PS (641 hp / 478 kW) and 850 Nm (627 lb-ft) of torque. It’s basically a souped-up version of the VW Group’s V8 that’s currently used in models like the Porsche Cayenne Turbo and the Bentley Bentayga.

Despite its gargantuan size and curb weight in excess of 2,200 kg (4,850 lbs), the high-riding Lambo is capable of supercar performance. Naught to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) takes only 3.6 seconds, the 200 km/h (124 mph) mark is hit in 12.8 seconds and top speed stands at an amazing 305 km/h (190 mph).

Porsche has different monikers to choose from when it comes to the official nomenclature. Thus, the model might be called the Cayenne GT Coupe, Cayenne Turbo S Coupe or Cayenne Turbo GTS Coupe. They even trademarked the GT5 nameplate, God only knows for what, but we’ll eventually find out.

The team responsible for the alleged build, on the other hand, is said to be the same one that makes race cars and some of the hottest Porsches, and the GT3, 911 R, GT2 RS and Speedster are in their portfolio.

As for the outgoing Cayenne Turbo Coupe, which is the most agile variant on sale, it’s powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 rated at 550 PS (542 hp / 404 kW) and 768 Nm (566 lb-ft) of torque. With the optional Sport Chrono Package, it sprints to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.9 seconds and maxes out at 286 km/h (178 mph).
