Ford has announced the official pricing of the all-new Focus ST in the United Kingdom, where customer deliveries will commence next month.
The most affordable version of the car is the diesel-powered hatchback, which can be ordered from £29,495 ($38,588/€34,470). Choose the estate and see the price climb to at least £30,595 ($40,028/€35,756).
Both of them share the 2.0-liter EcoBlue engine that produces 190 PS (187 hp / 140 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. It’s coupled to a six-speed manual transmission that channels the output to the front wheels, contributing to a claimed 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration of 7.6 seconds and a 220 km/h (137 mph) top speed.

But aside from the diesel option, the new Focus ST can be chosen with a petrol engine as well. The 2.3-liter EcoBoost produces 280 PS (276 hp / 206 kW) and 420 Nm (310 lb-ft) of torque, making it a more appropriate hot hatch, at least to the eyes of the purists.
Naught to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) drops to just under 6 seconds for this model and top speed goes up to 250 km/h (155 mph). Like the EcoBlue, the EcoBoost is also matched to a six-speed manual gearbox, although a seven-speed auto option will be added soon.
Pricing for the petrol-powered Focus ST starts from £31,995 ($41,859/€37,392) and £33,095 ($43,298/€38,678) for the hatchback and estate, respectively.
The 2019 Focus ST EcoBlue gets torque vectoring technology, whereas the EcoBoost comes with an electronic limited-slip differential. Driving modes include the Slippery/Wet, Normal, Sport and, for cars equipped with the optional Performance Pack, Track. The bundle of upgrades also includes continuously controlled damping, gear shift indicator and rev-matching technology.
Visually, the new Focus ST combines a sharp-looking exterior with a sporty cockpit that features Recaro front seats, sports steering wheel, aluminum pedals, eight-inch infotainment system with smartphone integration and others.
