Now that the limited volume McLaren 600LT Coupe is all sold out in the US, buyers can turn their attention to the long-tail Spider variant, which can be ordered effective immediately in return for at least $256,500.
Like its fixed roof sibling, the 600LT Spider features the same carbon fiber Monocell II chassis, optimized aerodynamics and 3.8-liter twin turbo V8 engine. However, it also comes with a three-piece retractable hardtop that can be operated at speeds of up to 25 mph (40 km/h).
Along came a Spider
“The 600LT Spider carries the Longtail story on to its fifth chapter, and in time will become just as legendary as the 675LT. And as the first Sports Series Spider to carry the coveted badge, it is set to be one of the most sought-after McLaren cars in years to come,” said McLaren sales & marketing boss Jolyon Nash.
At its disposal are 582 HP (600 PS) and 457 lb-ft (620 Nm) of torque, to go with just 2,859 lbs (1,297 kg) of weight, which according to McLaren makes this car at least 176 lbs (80 kg) lighter than any of its direct rivals. With a power-to-weight ratio of 457 HP per tonne, the 600LT Spider can accelerate to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 2.8 seconds.

Other impressive numbers include how its rear wing generates 220 lbs (100 kg) of downforce at 155 mph (250 km/h), or the car’s ability to accelerate to 124 mph (200 km/h) in just 8.4 seconds, as fast as some hypercars.
Like the Coupe, the 600LT Spider also has limited availability, so if you’re planning on placing an order, you best hurry up and do so. Meanwhile, you can configure your ideal 600LT by clicking here.
