She’s not ‘The Stig’, although she said she’s faster than him (period), but The Grand Tour’s tame racing driver. She’s called Abbie Eaton, she’s a 27-year old Brit and she recently sat down with DriveTribe for an interview.
Miss Eaton has been driving for Amazon’s popular car show since 2017, during which she got the chance to test some of the best vehicles out there, travel the world and learn some juicy details about the presenters.
So, who do does she think the best driver is, out of Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May? That would be Clarkson, as he’s the most confident one, Abbie said, adding that he’s not afraid to push a car to the limit and go sideways.

The most fun car she drove during the show was the former ‘Ring King, the Lamborghini Huracan Performante. The young woman, who’s also a racing instructor and works as a performance driving coach whenever she’s not racing or filming, said that the hardest one to drive was the New Stratos. She has also revealed that the worst one was the Volkswagen Up! GTI.
Her favorite memory from filming TGT was in Sweden, where she raced a Porsche 911 Turbo S against the Lamborghini Urus with Clarkson at the helm, on an ice track, with a very unusual shape.
At nearly 5 minutes long, the interview reveals other details from Abbie’s life, including her daily driver which, surprisingly, is a diesel hatchback, her motorsport icon, favorite music to drive to, speed record and others, so now would be a good time to open a small bag of chips and hit that play button.
