The iconic M1 Procar series returns for one more time as part of the DTM weekend at Norisring.
Together with the legendary race cars, spectactors will get to see drivers like Hans-Joachim Stuck, Marc Surer, Harald Grohs and Jan Lammers in action.
Back in 1980, Hans-Joachim Stuck won the Procar race at Norisring ahead of Jan Lammers and Marc Surer, and all three legends will be reunited this weekend. The Procar Revival will consist of four races on all three event days, including right before each of the two DTM races.

“I’m really looking forward to the revival of the BMW M1 Procar series,” said Stuck. “The combination of the six fastest Formula 1 drivers and cool privateers hasn’t been seen since.”
“Then there is the unique sound of the BMW M1. That is unique to this day. I just want to enjoy the ride. It really doesn’t matter to me whether I finish second, third or fourth. I want to drive the car, hear it and experience it. I’ve won enough races in my life,” Stuck added.
The BMW M1 Procar Championship was originally launched back in 1979 as a support racing series for the European races of the F1 championship. The six fastest F1 drivers from the Friday practice competed with international privateers in identical M1 race cars, giving the crowds some spectacular and thrilling races.
The Procar Revival will take place at Norisring from July 5 to July 7, bringing out 14 M1 race cars that are powered by a 470hp 3.5-liter straight-six engine.
