Following the Ford Puma debut last week, a number of rendering artists have imagined different variations of the tiny crossover. This Puma RS, imagined by X-Tomi Design, is the best we’ve seen yet.
The likelihood of Ford building a high-performance version of the Puma with its ‘RS’ nameplate is exceptionally slim but if it did, the finished product could look the absolute business.
This rendering hypothesizes the Puma adorned with many of the styling elements found on the previous-gen Focus RS. For example, there are aggressive black front air intakes, black wheels, blue brake calipers, and a large wing stretching over the tailgate. The small crossover’s ride height has also been lowered and in this photo, it actually looks to be similar in size to the Focus RS but with a slightly less aggressive and more rounded design. We like it.

Unfortunately, we have seen no indication from Ford that a Puma RS is even a remote possibility. The standard model is not at all about performance and it is sold exclusively with a turbocharged 1.0-liter three-cylinder EcoBoost engine with an electric motor. Power varies between 123 hp and 152 hp depending on which model customers opt for.
While a Puma RS isn’t on the cards, there is a new Ford Focus RS reportedly in the works. This new hot hatch will reportedly feature a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine with 370 hp and supplemented by a 48-volt starter/generator to provide an additional 30 hp. With figures of 400 hp and 425 lb-ft (576 Nm) of torque, the car will be a true rival to the new Mercedes-AMG A45.
