The Aston Martin Rapide E has touched down in the UK, where it was put through its paces in front of the audience at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The electric sedan tackled the course fast and silent, unleashing its 601 HP (610 PS / 449 kW) and 701 lb-ft (950 Nm) of torque produced by the twin electric motors mounted at the back.
The most powerful version of the Rapide yet is extremely rapid: 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) takes less than 4 seconds, and top speed is electronically capped at 155 mph (250 km/h). The driving range provided by the 65 kWh battery is not bad either, at 200+ miles (320+ km) in the WLTP cycle.

Despite being one of the best looking four-door models in the market, you won’t see much of it, as Aston Martin has chosen to put a cap on the production number. Only 155 units of the car that builds on the ICE-powered Rapide, which has been in the market since 2010 (with a facelifted iteration introduced three years later) will be put together at the automaker’s new St Athan plant in Wales.
This is actually the second dynamic debut of Aston Martin’s first-ever EV, as it was demonstrated in Monaco a couple of months ago, during the Formula E ePrix. You can find out more about that run here, after seeing it go in between the haystacks at Goodwood below, of course.
