Bentley released the very impressive onboard video of its Pikes Peak record run, showing Rhys Millen pushing a Continental GT to its limits for over 10 minutes. More specifically for 10 minutes and 18,488 seconds.
By doing so, the Bentley Continental GT became the fastest production car in the history of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, shattering the previous record by 8.4 seconds.
2019 is Bentley’s centenary year and what better way to celebrate than with another record. The British car maker wanting the break the production car record ever since a Bentayga became the fastest SUV of the hill climb last year.

The car with the number 100 on its doors is a twin-turbo W12 model, powered by a 6.0-liter engine with 626hp and 664lb-ft (900Nm) of torque. Thanks to its permanent all-wheel drive and its snappy eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, the new Continental GT is capable of a 0-60mph in 3.6 seconds and of a 207mph top speed (333km/h).
The only differences over a standard Continental GT were the addition of a roll cage, a fire suppression system and a set of racing buckets, complete with their harnesses, for obvious safety reasons.
“This is an amazing finish to a wet, snowy 2019 run at Pikes Peak”, said Millen after setting the record. “We came here with one goal in mind, and that was to be the fastest production car up the mountain and set a new record. It was an incredible week. Today was a challenge with what Mother Nature threw at us, but the Continental GT held strong all the way to the top, and we are now Number One.”
