If the first official photos of the new BMW 8-Series Gran Coupe didn’t convince you of the car’s stunning looks, this clip probably will.
Carscoops reader PC Rogs tipped us off to this YouTube video, which provides us with a close look at the 8-Series Gran Coupe in 840i guise at the BMW Welt facility in Munich, Germany.
Starting with the exterio, it is hard to deny that it is striking. This particular example is painted white and sports gloss black wheels as well as a number of carbon fiber accents. Among our favorite details are the blue brake calipers and the large hump at the rear of the decklid.

Inside, the 8-Series Gran Coupe is perhaps even more glamorous than its exterior would suggest. The rear features two spacious seats (technically, there’s a middle seat too, although it’s not very useful) as well as a large center console where rear passengers can control things such as the climate control. Those at the rear also have a large sunroof to enjoy.
Move to the front part of the cabin and you’ll find a beautiful mixture of black leather, blue accent lighting, and aluminum accents. It looks like a lovely place to sit and we’re sure will tempt some buyers previously looking at picking up a Mercedes-Benz S-Class or Audi A8.
The BMW 8-Series Gran Coupe can be purchased with a number of different engines, including a range-topping 4.4-liter TwinPower Turbo V8 pumping out an impressive 523 hp and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of torque. An M8 Gran Coupe is also on the horizon, though for most, even the “humble” 840i should be more than enough.
