Bentley has helped raise 700,000 euros ($780k in current exchange rates) by offering a Flying Spur First Edition in a specially charity auction, with all proceeds going to the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
The auction was held at Villa Dorane, Cap d’Antibes in France, hosted by Sir Elton and David Furnish. Tania Bryer was master of ceremonies while Chris Martin of Coldplay made a special guest appearance.
An anonymous bidder became the proud owner of the Flying Spur First Edition, with Bentley inviting him to work with a member of its Design Team in order to completely personalize it from its limitless exterior and interior options.

“It’s because of the consistent support and kindness of so many people in this room that we are able to commit the Elton John AIDS Foundation to real partnerships with world leaders that can a make a future without AIDS,” said Sir Elton John.
The First Edition of the new Bentley Flying Spur will be limited to the first 12 months of production. Apart from the special badging, the First Edition of Bentley’s new luxury sedan features commemorative tread plates, 22-inch wheels, and pretty much all the bells and whistles from the options list, including a hood ornament with illuminated wings.
Power is provided by the company’s twin-turbo 6.0-liter W12 engine, which produces 635 PS (626 hp) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque. An eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission sends power to all four wheels and the new Flying Spur to 62mph (100km/h) from a standstill in 3.8 seconds. Top speed is 207mph (333km/h), which is more than plenty for businessmen and businesswomen to catch up with all their meetings.
