Vehicles that started life as press cars will eventually end up in the used market but if one of them gains so much -negative in this case- attention as Car and Driver’s former long-term Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, then the seller might have a rather tough task of selling it.
This is the same exact Giulia Quadrifoglio that spent 80 days in the repair shop during a 14-month stay in the magazine’s long-term fleet, causing Car and Driver to advice potential customers to “stay away from Giulia QFs altogether”.

The car was first spotted by a Reddit user, prompting the publication to confirm that this is indeed the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio they bought for their long-term test, after comparing the VIN numbers.
Car and Driver’s Giulia Quadrifoglio was riddled with issues concerning the “service electronic throttle control” which threw the car into its standard driving mode. It also had a rear differential replacement that kept the car in the repair shop for over a month, countless warning lights that went out on their own shortly after, as well as malfunctioning parking sensors.
The fact that when the Italian M3 rival seemed healthy still managed to thrill its driver with its talented chassis, its fabulous engine and responsive gearbox wasn’t enough to keep it away from rendering the experience of living with it “heartbreaking”.
So, there it is: a used 2018 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio with a little over 43,000 miles on the clock and an infamous background offered for 50 percent of the vehicle’s price when new, at $41,500. Are you brave enough?
