Vauxhall has announced the official pricing and specifications of the facelifted Astra, which will go on sale in the UK on August 1.

The compact hatchback will launch in seven trim levels, priced from £18,885 ($23,214/€20,851), undercutting the base Volkswagen Golf by about £2,000 ($2,458/€2,208). The entry-level Ford Focus is £340 ($418/€375) more affordable, whereas the Renault Megane kicks off at £17,820 ($21,905/€19,675).

The 2020 Astra hatchback range includes the SE, Business Edition Nav, SRi, SRi Nav, SRi VX Line Nav, Elite Nav and Ultimate Nav, while the Estate is offered with an MSRP of £20,355 ($25,021/€22,474), in the SE, Business Edition Nav and SRi Nav grades. Both body styles feature revised styling, improved drag coefficient that makes the hatchback the most aerodynamic car in the class, according to the PSA-owned brand, and new engines.

The petrol range includes 1.2- and 1.4-liter units, with outputs between 110 PS (108 hp / 81 kW) and 145 PS (143 hp / 107 kW), and the diesel lineup is made of the 105 PS (104 hp / 78 kW) and 122 PS (120 hp / 90 kW) 1.5-liter mill. Depending on the engineyou can get the revised Astra with either a six-speed manual or nine-speed automatic transmission.

A new suite of tech gear is also available, including the Multimedia Radio, Multimedia Navi and Multimedia Navi Pro systems compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The latter is standard on the Elite Nav and Ultimate Nav grades and features an 8-inch touchscreen display and voice control, while the Ultimate Nav also gets Bose premium sound system and IntelliLux LED Matrix headlights.
