Tennessee Ford Dealer Launches 808 HP Gulf-Inspired Mustang

A Ford dealership in Morrison, Tennessee has announced a comprehensive upgrade package for the Ford Mustang GT that bumps power up to an extraordinary 808 hp while exterior changes give the car a GT40-esque Gulf livery.

The vehicle, built by Brown Lee Performance from within the Brown Lee Ford dealership, takes the Mustang GT’s standard 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine and outfits it with a potent supercharger to create headline figures of 808 hp and 677 lb-ft (918 Nm) of torque, enough to spin the earth backwards. Other engine modifications include an air to water intercooler system, upgraded fuel injectors, and a high-flow air induction system.

This engine can be paired to Ford’s ten-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed manual. The car can reach 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 3.3 seconds and run down the quarter-mile in 10.7-seconds at 132 mph (212 km/h) but it remains to be seen if that’s with the manual ‘box or the automatic. Whatever the case may be, we’re sure finding traction off the line could be a challenge.

Brown Lee Performance has made sure its limited-edition Mustang can brake as fast as it accelerates by fitting Brembo six-piston calipers at the front with 15.1-inch rotors and Brembo four-piston calipers at the rear with 15.1-inch rotors. There is also lowered sport suspension and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup2 tires.

Then we come to the looks. The dealership has been granted a license to use the famed Gulf Oil colors and painted the Mustang in a stunning combination of light blue and orange. Production will be capped at 119 units and customers will be able to order the vehicle in both convertible and coupe forms with a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty. It will make its premiere at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on August 18.
