Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus has just finished work on its modern interpretation of the Baja Boot.
The niche carmaker and motorsport outfit started working on its modern Baja Boot in January 2018, and the example presented is a two-door model.
SCG also plans on building the Boot in four-door guise. Plans from earlier this year called for the company to build no less than five two-door models before the end of 2019 and race one of them in the Baja 1000.

Powering the new Boot is an LT4 V8 engine from GM pumping out a cool 650 HP and much like the original Baja Boot, the new one features an intriguing exhaust system popping out from over the rear wheel arches. Road-legal models will feature four-wheel independent suspension with 19-inch of travel and 37-inch all-terrain tires. The available Baja package will see suspension travel increased to an incredible 22 inches.
Other alterations made for the Baja package will include bespoke 2.5 front and rear coilovers as well as 3.5 Bypass front and 4.0 Bypass rear shocks. The off-roader will also get Wilwood six-piston brake calipers up front with 14-inch discs as well as different 37-inch off-road tires.
SCG plans on competing at this year’s Baja 1000 with its new Boot and will continue to build the two-door model through 2020. Once production of the two-door comes to an end, SCG will turn its attention to a larger four-door variant.
“This November we are going to drive our Glickenhaus Baja Boot from San Diego to Ensenada, race the Baja 1000, and drive home. What’s not to like?” James Glickenhaus said about the project.
