Ford has been donating cars to JDRF, which fights against Type 1 diabetes, for nearly a decade. The latest vehicle that will help raise money for the good cause is none other than the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500.
The muscle car will be raffled at the annual fundraiser, where the two companies are aiming to sell 75,000 tickets. The drawing will be held at the Ford Conference and Event Center in Dearborn, Michigan, on November 14, and the winner doesn’t have to be present.
To participate, you’ll have to buy a $10 ticket to the raffle. While the winner will be rewarded with the most exciting Mustang ever made, the second place will get an all-inclusive VIP race experience for two at the 2020 Daytona 500.

“Building on the excitement around GT500 is a terrific way to help JDRF fund research and help find a cure for Type 1 diabetes”, said Ford’s director of enterprise product line management, Dave Pericak. “Not only does this raffle provide an opportunity to win the most powerful production Ford ever, it also speaks to how Ford strives to make people’s lives better.
As for the Shelby GT500 in question, it sports a unique Venom metallic clearcoat, a charcoal color adorned by the black racing stripes. It rides on exposed carbon fiber wheels shod in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, and also comes with the Carbon Fiber Track Package, Mustang GT4 track wing and leather seats.
Like all GT500s, it’s powered by a 5.2-liter supercharged V8 rated at 760 HP and 625 lb-ft (847 Nm) of torque that’s coupled to a 7-speed DCT.
