The second generation Audi A1 has just checked in with ABT Sportsline recently, coming away with 236 HP (240 PS) and 265 lb-ft (360 Nm) of torque. The German tuner upgraded the 40 TFSI version, which already featured 197 HP (200 PS) and 236 lb-ft (320 Nm) of torque.

In order to give the small premium hatchback a little extra muscle, ABT installed a custom engine control unit, while also focusing on long term durability.

Also packaged within this upgrade are the ABT suspension springs and 18-inch ABT Sport GR wheels. The former facilitated lowering the car by 25 to 30 mm (0.98 – 1.18 inches) and can already work alongside Audi’s sports suspension, as well as the factory-fitted electronic damper control system.

The wheels meanwhile can be had in two color variants (matte black, glossy black) and feature a recessed hub, ten spokes and a strong concave design. Interested parties can purchase the wheels separately from the performance upgrade should they choose to.

While no acceleration or top speed numbers were provided, we can tell you that a stock A1 40 TFSI model can already accelerate to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 6.5 seconds, before maxing out at 146 mph (235 km/h). It’s safe to say that the extra HP and torque achieved through ABT’s power upgrade should provide the car with a small increase in performance, the emphasis being on “small”.

As for looks, the model pictured here features the automaker’s s-line trim, and aside from the custom wheels, we don’t see any other exterior mods.
