Spy photographers snapped the first photos of the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee a little over a month ago, but it appears the model’s interior might have been revealed on Instagram.
As you can see in this torn document, the cabin is more luxurious than the current model as it features a wide center console that branches off into a Y-shaped dashboard. The latter appears to be adorned with wood and metallic trim as well as slender air vents.
The zoomed-in image is rather blurry, but the document suggests the model will have a new steering wheel and an instrument cluster with either a 7- or 10.1-inch TFT display. To the right is a stylish center stack which is topped by an infotainment system which will reportedly be offered in three sizes including 7-, 8.4- and 10.1 inches.

Below the infotainment system is a rotary gear selector and what appears to be toggle switches for the transfer case and Terrain Select system. It’s also worth mentioning that the center console appears longer and lower than before and this helps to create an airy and spacious cabin.
The door panels feature an evolutionary design, but the document suggests they have new metallic handles and updated switchgear. We can also see wood trim and meaty arm rests.
While the authenticity of the document remains unconfirmed, it shows the Grand Cherokee will be offered with heated and ventilated seats that have a massage function. There could also be 12- to 16-way power front seats as well as power adjustment for the steering column and pedals. We can also see a rear seat entertainment system that will reportedly feature a new Blu-ray player.
While the document should be taken with a grain of salt, previous spy photos have shown the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee will grow in size and feature a more aerodynamic front fascia. Little else is known about the model, but it could ride on a modified version of Alfa Romeo’s Giorgio platform which underpins the Giulia and Stelvio.
While Jeep has remained tight-lipped about the model, the company has already confirmed plans for a plug-in hybrid variant. It’s expected to be a joined by an upgraded version of the company’s 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine. The model should also be offered with a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 and there has been rumblings about additional engine variants.
Regardless of what’s under the hood, Jeep has already confirmed the next-generation Grand Cherokee will have a Level 3 semi-autonomous driving system and go into production in the first half of 2021.
