Himalaya Spectre Is A $250k Defender Inspired By 007’s Latest Film

Aftermarket specialist Himalaya has just introduced its new limited-edition Land Rover Defender inspired by the ones used in James Bond film Spectre.

Himalaya starts work on its Defender by sourcing a frame from the UK and proceeds to reinforce and galvanize it to fend off corrosion. The vehicle’s standard 182 HP, 3.9-liter V8 is then replaced with an LS3 GM unit with 525 HP, but a Cummins 2.8-liter turbo diesel and an LS3 with a Whipple supercharger are also available.

The ‘standard’ LS3 is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with all-wheel drive and modified hubs, gearings, chromoly axleshafts and a trussed rear housing. In addition, the tuned Defender benefits from a four-inch lift kit, Fox Racing remote-reservoir shocks, and custom long-travel control arms with articulating ends. Brakes are sourced from Wilwood, the steering box comes from the Jeep Wrangler JK and huge, 37-inch tires have also been fitted.

The exterior of the Himalaya Spectre Defender 110 shares an uncanny resemblance to the film cars with a bespoke front end with a large bull bar, flared wheel arches, roof-mounted spotlights, and custom billet door handles, latches, and hinges. There are also retracting power steps, a Warn Zeon 10S winch, a custom rear spare wheel carrier and skidplates.

Extensive work has also been done to the interior of the vehicle with it now incorporating Ruskin leather, an Alcantara headliner, heated Recaro seats, a Kenwood head unit with JL Audio speakers, and a reversing camera.

Prices for Himalaya’s Spectre Defender 110 start at a cool $250,000.
