The countdown to the Frankfurt Motor Show continues as Hyundai has released a more revealing look at their upcoming 45 concept.
Drawing inspiration from the 1970’s Pony, the concept features an angular design which somehow manages to be both retro and futuristic.
The front of the car can be seen in a reflection and it features a sloping hood and what appears to be an LED light bar. The latter can generate a number of different images and, in this case, it shows some fairly conventional looking headlights.

Moving further back, there’s an angular windscreen and distinctive bodywork. More notability, the concept appears to be a three-door hatchback that lacks side mirrors and windows – although the latter could be obscured due to the lighting. Regardless, we can also see massive wheels and black fender flares.
The rear end was previewed last month and it features an angular rear window with vertical accents that recall those used on the Pony. The model also has a rear light bar and an illuminated 45 logo.
Hyundai hasn’t said much about the concept, but the company has previously said it’s an electric vehicle that will act as a “symbolic milestone for Hyundai’s future EV design.” As part of this effort, the car has been equipped with an evolution of their “Sensuous Sportiness” design language.
The concept will be unveiled on September 10th and Hyundai has previously suggested it could have a unique interior which is customizable. The extent of the customization remains unclear, but Hyundai envisions a world where the “cars of tomorrow will become individualized living spaces.”
