This upcoming Formula E season will feature a more aggressive-looking Audi e-tron race car, featuring plenty of visible carbon fiber and a surprisingly bright orange livery.

Before making its racing debut at Ad Diriyah in Saudi Arabia on November 22/23, the brand new Audi e-tron FE06 will be unveiled to the public at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show next week – at the Audi booth in Hall 3, to be precise.

“Compliments to the design team at Audi,” said German Formula E driver Daniel Abt. “I’ve been keeping track of the visual development over the last few weeks and think the result is brilliant – the car simply looks aggressive and fast.”

Meanwhile, his teammate, Luca di Grassi, had this to say: “The fans are going to immediately recognise our car from the grandstands or on television. Each livery in the five seasons has had its own unique character, but the FE06 is my favourite. Now it’s up to the whole team to also make it a success.”

The reason why the designers chose orange for the livery was the color palette in which the road-going Audi e-tron was previously presented. One thing’s for certain though, the color really does “pop”, especially compared to what we’ve already seen from the likes of Porsche and Mercedes with regards to their Formula E cars.

Audi still has a lot of work to do before the first race of the season. During the next few weeks, the team will be doing some “intensive private testing” in Europe, followed by a trip to Valencia in the middle of October for the official Formula E pre-season test.
