Pressure washing a car is the perfect way to prepare it for a detailed hand wash and then a rinse. But we guess everyone is using a normal hose, right?

Well, the people behind the Garage 54 YouTube channel decided to see what would happen if they used a fire hose. And to make it even more interesting, they didn’t pick just any car, but an old and rusty Lada.

Caking the exterior of the car was some kind of gelatin and while it could have been removed with a normal wash (OK, and some hard work), that simply wouldn’t have been in the spirit of the channel. Consequently, the channel recruited the help of a local fire crew, who sprayed the poor old Lada with their high-pressure hose.

The host explains that the fire hose used pumps out about 10.5 gallons of water per second. It has so much force that two firefighters need to hold it. and even they appear to struggle in order not to be pushed backwards. As you can probably imagine, the Lada didn’t fare particularly well and the hose ripped away the window trim and wing mirrors, forcing gallons and gallons of water inside.

Well, it wasn’t like they had an armored Bentley or something to deal with, did they, although we suspect even that might have sustained some damage to its exterior trim.
