The new Ford Bronco is still some way off but Muscle Cars & Trucks reports that work has already commenced on creating numerous accessories for the off-roader.
Ford is said to be working with cargo accessories manufacturer Yakima to develop parts for the new Bronco, the same company it has worked with to accessorize the Ford Explorer and Ranger. These Yakima parts are available through Ford dealerships and all come with a 3-year or 36,000-mile Ford warranty. The same can be expected for Bronco accessories.

Among the Yakima parts offered for the Ranger and Explorer are bike racks, kayak racks, hitch-mounted storage racks, and even a tent for the former. It seems likely that the collaboration between Ford and Yakima will be taken to new heights for the Bronco if the Blue Oval wants to establish it, and the ‘Baby Bronco’, as legitimate rivals to the Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator that are offered with a dizzying array of accessories from Mopar.
A recent series of patents revealed one of the more intriguing options that could feature on the new Bronco; removable doors. These could be similar to those available for the Wrangler and Gladiator and perfect for those who enjoy an open-air driving experience. Separate patents have also shown that the Bronco could feature a detachable cloth top.
Further details about the next-generation Ford Bronco remain thin on the ground but we’re told the vehicle will launch in late 2020 so we should start learning more about the off-roader in the New Year.
