The Suzuki Jimny has become a favorite model for automotive illustrators ever since its unveiling more than a year ago.
We’ve seen countless variants of the Jimny surfacing in the digital world, including a five-door SUV version, 6×6 pickup, as well as mini G-Class and Defender lookalikes. Let’s not forget that tuning companies have had a field day with the Jimny and Suzuki itself could not resist turning the tiny off-roader into a pickup for the 2019 Tokyo Auto Salon.
The problem with Suzuki’s Jimny Sierra Pickup Style is the fact that a production version would make little sense given that it’s a single cab pickup with the standard wheelbase. It can only accommodate two passengers and the bed truck would probably be the smallest in the world.

Intrigued by this, the folks from Kolesa thought about “fixing” Suzuki’s Jimny pickup by making it a much more practical dual cab, four-door version with a stretched wheelbase. Besides the significantly larger distance between the axles, the hypothetical Jimny pickup also features longer rear overhangs in order for the cargo platform to offer a decent loading capacity.
Since the Suzuki Jimny production SUV measures slightly less than 3,500-mm (137.8-in) long without the rear-mounted spare wheel, a stretched dual-cab pickup version would still be a compact vehicle — probably the smallest “truck” of its kind.
The real question here is obviously whether a Jimny pickup would be worth pursuing for Suzuki. Certainly, many people believe the Japanese carmaker should expand the Jimny family to profit from the small off-roader’s popularity. In this case, would a stretched Jimny pickup be a bit of a… stretch? Let us know what you think.
