Conan O’Brien might not be as closely associated with cars as a certain other late night TV show host, but that doesn’t mean he’s completely clueless.

In particular, he recently touted the benefits of green cars on his TBS show and Team CoCo channels. While everyone knows they’re cleaner and more fuel-efficient than regular cars, those aren’t the green cars Conan had in mind.

As you can see in the clip, the show came up with a new company called GreenCars.Biz. Instead of selling eco-friendly sedans and hatchbacks, they exclusively sell vehicles with green paint jobs.

Why you ask? Because no one likes green cars and they have horrible resale values. As the tag line notes “GreenCars.Biz: The color you hate, at the price you love.”

While the savings are tempting, you’re still buying a green-colored car. To help compensate for this, the company will ship you a kit that contains a wig, a beard, sunglasses and a hat so “no one will know who’s driving that green car.”

The clip pretty much trashes green cars, but it’s interesting to note Conan’s 1992 Ford Taurus SHO is Emerald Green. Conan has talked about the car numerous times in the past and it was featured in a segment last year where he jokingly called it his most prized procession.

As for the popularity of green vehicles, they’re pretty much near the bottom of most lists. Earlier this year, CarMax released a list detailing the popularity of colors and green ranked ninth with buyers at a dismal 1.35%. The top colors were black (22.25%), white (19.34%) and grey (17.63%).
