Karma introduced the Revero GT earlier this year and a new report is indicating the company will use the Los Angeles Auto Show to unveil a high-performance variant known as the Revero GTS.

Little is known about the model, but Wards Auto says it will feature an assortment of “enhancements” including special wheels and an upgraded interior.

The sedan will also have an upgraded powertrain as the publication says the car will be able to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 3.5 seconds. That’s one second faster than the standard model.

This suggests the car will be equipped with more powerful electric motors, but nothing is official as of yet. Regardless, the standard Revero GT has two motors that produce a combined output of 536 hp (400 kW / 543 PS) and 1,100 lb-ft (1,491 Nm) of torque. They enable the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 4.5 seconds before hitting a limited top speed of 125 mph (201 km/h).

The electric motors are powered by a 28 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and this enables the car to travel up to 80 miles (129 km) on electricity alone. The model is also equipped with a BMW-sourced 1.5-liter TwinPower Turbo three-cylinder engine that acts as a generator and extends the overall driving range up to 360 miles (579 km).

Besides showing the Revero GTS, Karma will also unveil a “follow-up” to the SC1 Vision concept. There’s no word on specifics, but the original concept was an electric roadster which featured autonomous driving technology and a camera-based eye tracking system that was capable of biometric identification.

Wards Auto also talked to Karma’s chief technology officer, Bob Kruse, who revealed the company is working on “Project e-klipse.” It’s a new platform for electric vehicles and it will underpin an assortment of different models as Kruse suggested we will see “some unique vehicles and, obviously, some highly styled vehicles.”

Kruse went on to say the platform could enable the company to increase their output, but noted they won’t chase volume by moving downmarket. Instead, he said Karma will “continue to target the luxury niche” segment.
