Volkswagen has announced plans to unveil an all-new ID concept on November 19th.
The company is keeping details under wraps and the image accompanying the announcement is simply a sketch of the ID Vizzion concept that was unveiled last year.
While little is known about the vehicle, it will be unveiled to promote the “Building an Electric Future” exhibit at the Petersen Automotive Museum. The exhibit will open to the public on November 20th and “emphasize the brand’s plans to become the foremost producer of electric vehicles.”

The exhibit will spawn five rooms and showcase Volkswagen’s MEB platform and how it was designed. The exhibit will also highlight the flexible nature of the platform and the number of different vehicles that will be underpinned by it.
Volkswagen went on to say rooms will have “interactive features” which will allow visitors to explore the challenges faced by automakers and experience “what driving will look like in the future.”
Unsurprisingly, Volkswagen models will be front and center as the company said four ID concepts will be highlighted through physical and virtual experiences. The company will also have a dedicated room which will allow visitors to look inside an ID concept and learn more about its interior and technology.
According to Klaus Bischoff, Executive Director of Volkswagen Design, “Building an Electric Future gives a behind the scenes look at making the new age of electric and autonomous mobility happen. It shows varying perspectives from the point of view of the designer, the manufacturer, and the consumer.” He went on to say there’s no better way to kick off the exhibit than using it as the “world premiere of our newest member of the ID family.”
