Hennessey Resurrection Is A ‘Vette-Powered Camaro ZL1 1LE With 1,200 HP, 0-60 In 2.3 Sec!

Hennessey has prepped an extreme Chevrolet Camaro for the 2019 SEMA Show. The General Motors muscle car started life as the Chevy Camaro ZL1 1LE but dropped the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 in favor of the LT5 powering the Corvette ZR1.

The new power unit already enjoyed an impressive 755 horsepower when it arrived at the Texan tuner. Nonetheless, with a lot of upgrades, including an engine management calibration, as well as reinforced transmissions, the output has raised to a stunning 1,200 horses at 6,800 rpm and 1,000 pound-feet (1,356 Nm) of torque at 4,500 rpm, with E85 in the fuel tank.

The specs released by Hennessey are absolutely mental, as the Camaro Resurrection can mix it with hypercars – in a straight-line acceleration, anyway. The 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) takes only 2.3 seconds and flat-out, it will do well over 220 mph (354 km/h). On a good day and with a skilled driver holding the wheel, it will run the quarter mile in 9.3 seconds at 150 mph (241 km/h), as per tuner’s estimate.

“He is risen!”, said John Hennessey. “Our team has been waiting to offer a more powerful version of the Exorcist, but we just needed a cool name to fit the car. The Resurrection seemed to be the perfect evolution of the Exorcist, which was a name that was ultimately inspired by the Dodge Demon”, he added, referring to the Camaro ZL1 muscle car with 1,000 hp unveiled a couple of years ago. “The Resurrection is the first hyper-musclecar.”

Production of the wild Camaro will be limited to 24 examples and each one will set you back an eye-watering $200,000, including the cost of a brand new Chevy Camaro ZL1 1LE. Those with enough money in the bank who want to humiliate the new Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 at the drag strip can order one straight from Chevy dealers or from Hennessey directly.
