Ford’s Mustang-inspired electric crossover has an official name: the Mustang Mach-E. The vehicle will be unveilied on November 17, during a special event in Los Angeles that will be live streamed on social media and presented by Hollywood movie star Idris Elba.
Right after the broadcast ends, at approximately 6:30 p.m. PT (9:30 p.m. EST / 03:30 CET), Ford will start accepting pre-orders for the vehicle. Those who want to secure a build slot will have to make a $500 refundable reservation deposit, with the first wave of buyers getting the First Edition model, which will be detailed during the official unveiling.

The Mustang Mach-E will go on sale next year with a claimed range of 370 miles (595 km) in the WLTP test cycle, and an EPA-estimated 300 miles (483 km). Thus, it will be able to travel farther on a single charge than the Jaguar I-Pace, whose autonomy is 292 miles (470 km) WLTP and 234 miles (377 km) EPA. Rear- and all-wheel drive variants of the zero-emission SUV are also expected to be in the pipeline, with different outputs.
We look forward to seeing the first official images, although the teasers, spy shots, CADs and renderings have outlined its possible design. Thus, the Mustang Mach-E should have a front end inspired by the muscle car, with the pony badge on the closed grille, and similar taillights. Elsewhere, it will stand out thanks to the muscular rear fenders, sloping roofline and increased ground clearance.
