Hyundai is set to return to the NFL Super Bowl for the 12th time in the past 13 years, looking to make yet another connection with customers through a new 60-second ad that will run during the second quarter of the game.
According to the USA Today Ad Meter, the Korean carmaker has consistently ranked among the most popular brands, and has also ranked in the top 10 of commercials the last time it advertised during the Super Bowl (including 2017 and 2019 spots).
“Despite the significant changes in consumers’ media habits, the Super Bowl still stands on its own as the best way to reach a sizeable and engaged audience looking to be entertained by brands,” said Hyundai Motor America CMO, Angela Zepeda. “Our goal is to strike an emotional connection with consumers and make them feel something. It’s a challenge we embrace, and after starting with 344 original scripts, we’ve landed on what we think will be another standout for Hyundai.”

In the past three years alone, Hyundai has recorded more than 136 million views through its 2017, 2018 and 2019 Super Bowl spots. In 2016, the automaker’s ‘First Date’ spot was the first automotive ad to win the USA Today Ad Meter. Hyundai went on to have three spots in the top 10 that year.
Hyundai’s 2020 Super Bowl campaign is currently under development by its agency of record, Innocean USA. Meanwhile, the game itself will take place on February 2, 2020 in Miami at the Hard Rock Stadium – home of the Miami Dolphins.
