Half a year ago, Skoda entered the EV segment for the first time with the Citigoᵉ iV. Now, that model is about to go on sale in the UK, where order books will open on December 10.
Offered in two trim levels, called the SE and SE L, it starts from £20,455 ($26,483/€23,930) and £22,815 ($29,539/€26,691), respectively. With the £3,500 ($4,531/€4,095) Government Plug-in Car Grant, the price drops to £16,955 ($21,952/€19,835) and £19,315 ($25,007/€22,596), which makes it Volkswagen Group’s most affordable EV currently on sale.
The VW e-Up! starts at £19,615 ($25,396/€22,947), whereas the Seat Mii Electric will cost you £19,300 ($24,988/€22,579), with the GPiCG included.

SE models get standard leather-wrapped steering wheel and handbrake lever, automatic climate control, Swing DAB radio and remote central locking. The SE L adds 16-inch alloy wheels, rear parking sensors, body-colored side mirror caps and door handles, ambient lighting, heated front seats and 40 kW fast charging. Both of them can be linked to the Skoda Connect app, which allows owners to check and control certain functions via their smartphones.
The Citigoᵉ iV uses a 61 kW (83 PS / 82 hp) and 210 Nm (155 lb-ft) of torque electric motor. It can accelerate to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 12.5 seconds and hit a 130 km/h (81 mph) top speed.
Positioned in the chassis floor, the 36.8 kWh lithium-ion battery gives it a range of 140-170 miles (225-274 km) in the WLTP cycle and can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in 4 hours and 15 minutes using a 7.1 kW AC wall box, or a little over 12 and a half hours via the 3.6 kW home-charging station. However, with the SE L’s fast charging function, that time drops to just 60 minutes for a 0-80 percent refill.
