As the trend dictates, the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show is mostly dominated by SUVs and quasi crossovers. You also get the usual electric cars and a few high-performance models, but when it comes to hot estates, you’ll have to pay a visit to Audi’s stand, as the new RS6 Avant is the only of its kind on display.
Coming from the Frankfurt Motor Show, where it celebrated its public premiere a couple of months ago, and a Cars & Coffee event in Malibu, California, in early November, where it first saluted America, the muscular executive wagon will launch in the United States early next year.

Pinned against the Mercedes-AMG E63 Estate, it doesn’t hide its extraordinary performance with bulging fenders, a honeycomb singleframe grille, wide air intakes , roof spoiler, diffuser, dual exhaust pipes and huge wheels. The interior has been updated over the regular A6 Avants as well, getting RS-branded sports seats, carbon fiber trim, special badging and a several other features.
It has the numbers game on its side as well, with the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) taking only 3.6 seconds and top speed being electronically limited to 155 mph (250 km/h). The 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 pumps out 592 hp (600 PS / 441 kW) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque and is hooked up to an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. Keeping those horses in the stable are the standard brakes with steel discs or the optional carbon ceramic set.
