Australia is home to some pretty impressive police cars and in the state of New South Wales, there are a handful of Chrysler 300 SRT Core models on active duty. The two videos below capture a pair of them in action.
The first video was recently shared on Reddit and shows one of these Chryslers sitting by the side of a rural highway looking to find anyone breaking the speed limit.
As the cammer cruises down the road, a small white hatchback overtakes in the right lane. It’s impossible to say how fast the hatchback was driving but the speed limit on the road was likely 100 km/h (62 mph) and if the cammer was sitting at 100 km/h, the hatch may have been doing over 120 km/h or perhaps a little more.

Whatever the case may be, shortly after the hatchback passes the cammer, the Chrysler 300 SRT can be seen in the distance hiding behind a crash barrier. The driver of the hatch seems to notice and hits the brakes but it’s all a little late. The Chrysler quickly pulls out onto the highway, floors the throttle, and pulls over the hatchback.
It’s a routine stop but what makes this video interesting is just how incredible the V8 engine of the Chrysler sounds. With the death of the local Holden Commodore and Ford Falcon, many Aussie police forces have switched to forced induction alternatives that simply can’t rival naturally aspirated V8s for sound. All up, the Chrysler pumps out 470 hp (350 kw) and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm) of torque.
On the other hand, no matter how great is may sound, if you live in Australia and are a little throttle happy, this police cruiser is your worst nightmare.
