Factory Five’s F9R: The Ultimate Kit Car Has A 755 HP, 9.5-Liter V12 – But Might Not Happen

Factory Five has provided the world with its first proper glimpse of its latest track-ready supercar dubbed the F9R.

First previewed at SEMA last month as a rolling chassis, these renderings reveal that the vehicle will have a shape somewhat similar to the Aston Martin Vulcan.

Up front, your eyes are immediately drawn to the slim LED headlights and gaping wide air intakes and grille. There’s also a pretty serious air vent in the hood to ensure the powertrain remains cool. And what a powertrain it is. Found beneath the hood is an LS3-based engine from Australian company Race Cast that’s been morphed into a 9.5-liter V12 delivering 755 HP and 694 lb-ft (940 Nm) of torque.

As the Factory Five F9R is essentially a kit car, customers don’t have to opt for this gargantuan engine, as Ford and Chevrolet crate engines also available. No matter which powertrain customers go for, they also get a massive wing, four huge tailpipes, and a bold diffuser that’ll surely produce more than sufficient amounts of downforce.

Interestingly, Factory Five has revealed that the F9R has yet to be approved for production and still needs to see how it performs during testing and determine whether or not it will be cheap enough to produce and sell in high enough numbers to make business sense. The very first prototype will be constructed early next year and be put through its paces shortly after.
