The Genovation GXE has sprinted through to yet another record top speed, hitting 211.8 mph (340.8 km/h) during a recent high-speed run.

Genovation’s all-electric GXE topped out at 210.2 mph (338.28 km/h) at the Kennedy Space Center’s Shuttle Landing facility back in September. Clearly not satisfied with that figure, the team recently headed back to the same arrow-straight piece of tarmac and were able to take the electric sports car faster than it had ever been before.

At this point we must note that this is indeed an impressive speed, but not an official speed record, as it wasn’t a two-way run nor certified by anyone. Still, the Genovation GXE is mighty fast, and it may look like a C7 Chevrolet Corvette with a bodykit, in reality though it is much more than that.

That’s because it features a 60 kWh battery pack, inverters, and twin electric motors to deliver a combined 800 hp and more than 700 lb-ft (949 Nm) of torque. Customers can choose to order their GXE models with either a seven-speed manual transmission or an eight-speed automatic.

Genovation has also equipped the GXE with lightweight Carbon Revolution carbon fiber wheels, carbon ceramic Brembo brakes, active programmable suspension, and active aerodynamics. The company hopes to eventually see the GXE exceed 220 mph (354 km/h).

Once testing and development of the car is completed, it will be offered to the public. It definitely won’t be cheap, as each unit could set back customers a cool $750,000, a huge sum of money when the next-generation Tesla Roadster (which still doesn’t exist) promises better performance for around $250,000.
