Just over a week ago, an image starting circulating online that showed a sketchy Tesla Cybertruck lookalike parked outside a Tesla showroom. Now, thanks to VINWiki, we have the inside story behind that vehicle.
A young man by the name of Eric Decker watched the Cybertruck unveiling back in November and like most of us, was shocked with what he saw. Keen to add to the meme culture surrounding the abstract pickup truck, Decker and a friend rented a Ford F-150 on Turo and set about turning it into a Cybertruck.

While Tesla has inevitably spent huge amounts of money designing the Cybertruck and building the prototype it showcased last month, Decker was able to achieve a similar look at Home Depot. All that was needed were some large sheets of foam board, some cardboard, and duct tape. Four hours later, the Cybertruck replica was complete.
Eager to draw as much attention to the vehicle as possible, Decker and his friends drove to a local Tesla showroom where they proceeded to park the F-150-based Cybertruck out the front and started talking to employees and customers claiming that it was the real thing. After being moved on for illegally parking, the truck was parked up at an exclusive mall nearby and placed next to a McLaren 570S.
The whole story is pretty hilarious and we have to tip our hat to Decker for creating something that so easily captured the internet’s attention.
