Your Christmas mood might take a small hit if you happen to own certain Ford Fusion, F-150, Mercury Milan or Lincoln MKZ vehicles, as these have been subjected to a couple of separate recalls in North America.
The first safety campaign includes 600,166 units of the 2006-2010 Fusion, Milan and MKZ, which were assembled at Hermosillo between February 22, 2006, and July 15, 2009. The problem that led to this action is the hydraulic control unit, in which a valve that should normally be closed might open, resulting in extended brake pedal travel.

This issue would increase the risk of having an accident, and as it happens, the automaker is aware of 15 reports of crashes and two injuries that could be related to this condition. The fix will see dealers inspect the hydraulic control unit for signs of either stuck or slow-responding valves and replace them, if necessary. The second recall involves 33 units of the 2020 F-150 in the United States and 51 in Canada, all of which were built at Dearborn from November 10 to 21, 2019. According to Ford, some of these pickup trucks may have damaged spare tire bead area as a result of poor assembly and could corrode over time, causing separation of the bead wire and leading to rapid loss of air pressure and tire detaching. No accidents have been reported related to this condition, which will be fixed by replacing the spare tire free of charge. The reference number for this recall is 19S55.
