Tesla has started rolling out a new software update that includes a series of new voice commands, Autopilot visualizations, text message reading, and some other features.

In its release notes, Tesla mentions some of the new voice commands now accepted. For example, occupants can ask the car to “set the temperature to 70,” “open the glovebox,” “play the Beatles,” or “adjust my right mirror.”

In addition, Tesla models now allow drivers to read and respond to text messages using the right scroll wheel button. If a message is received, this button can be pressed and will be read out aloud. When pressed a second time, the driver can respond by talking and having their words translated into text.

As for Autopilot, it now shows additional objects around the vehicle, including stoplights, stop signs, and select road markings and is meant to offer a glimpse of Tesla’s eventual full-self driving capabilities.

There’s also a handful of other updates. For example, dashcam footage can now be saved automatically with a simple honk of the horn, while Tesla has also introduced a ‘Camp Mode’ that will “maintain airflow, temperature, interior lighting, as well as play music, and power devices.” A pair of new games, Stardew Valley and Backgammon, have also been added, and the Tesla Theater now includes Twitch for those that want to watch games live.

Tesla will soon start introducing the new features as part of the 2019.40.50 update to its wider fleet.
