The Tesla Cybertruck prototype unveiled to the world a little over a month ago has been filmed on the move at the Tesla Design Center in Hawthorne, California.

This particular Cybertruck is the same example that Tesla chief executive Elon Musk drove around Los Angeles and to Malibu shortly after the car was unveiled in a special event live-streamed around the world. It would appear as though this is the only functional Cybertruck prototype that Tesla has in its fleet although a second Cybertruck model can be seen as the pickup rolls into the design center. A next-generation Tesla Roadster is also visible in the background.

Mini Truck: Tesla Cybertruck R/C Pickups Are Really Cool And Cheap To Build

Arguably the most controversial aspect of the vehicle is its exterior design. Tesla has been widely criticized for the simple and angular design adopted by the Cybertruck that makes it look unlike any other Tesla or pickup truck on the market. The body itself is made from a special stainless steel exoskeleton that lacks any paint, seemingly in an effort from the carmaker to slash costs and price the truck competitively to ICE-powered alternatives.

Three variations of Cybertruck will be offered. Sitting at the base of the range will be a single motor rear-wheel drive example priced at $39,900. One step up in the range will bring customers to the mid-tier Dual Motor AWD version priced from $49,900. Last but not least will be the tri-motor AWD model priced from $69,900 and promising straight-line performance previously unimaginable for a pickup truck so big and so heavy.
