Volkswagen is going all-in with its electric vehicle plans, launching a multitude of ID-branded models that it hopes will sell in huge numbers.
The first model in this family is the VW ID.3 hatchback that’s similar in size to the ICE-powered Golf and featuring a totally bespoke design. In all likelihood, this car will only ever be sold in hatchback guise but Kleber Silva has decided to imagine what it would look like if turned into an estate. The result is very striking indeed.
In order to make the car, Silva stretched the roof of the ID.3 back and affixed a new rear end. The sleek proportions make the VW Passat seem ancient and uninspired – in fact, we think the ID.3. Variant looks even better than the hatchback.

As good as the concept looks, it’s very unlikely it will see the light of day. However, that’s not to say VW won’t pursue the idea of an all-electric estate.
At the recent Los Angeles Auto Show, the German brand unveiled the eye-catching ID. Space Vizzion Concept, which is essentially an ID.3 estate, albeit slightly larger. It is the seventh concept built off VW’s MEB platform and previews a production model set to be sold in Europe and North America.
The concept shown at the event was outfitted with a single electric motor at the rear delivering 275 hp, although an electric motor could be added at the front axle to give the car a combined 355 hp.
