If you grew up in the late 70s and 80s, odds are that either you yourself had, or knew somebody that had a (usually red) Lamborghini poster on their bedroom wall.

And we’re pretty sure it was not a Jalpa or an Espada, but a Countach, a car with a design so futuristic, it actually looked more bonkers than its successor, the Diablo. A case can even be made for the Murcielago looking more tame, although that term is applied loosely when we’re talking about Lambos.

In any case, owning one today means investing a lot of money, and this particular Red over Black 5000 QV model is getting auctioned off through Bring a Trailer, which means one bidder will probably walk away with the car of their dreams.

The Coutach 5000 QV, or Quattrovalvole, comes with a 5.2-liter V12 generating 414 HP (420 PS), while straked brake vents featured into the rocker panels of U.S.-market cars. The person who first bought this particular example also went with the optional large V-wing which, let’s face it, is a must in the Countach.

Otherwise, the spec is pretty straight-forward, as in classic. The exterior is red, with two-piece 15″ OZ wheels and the interior is finished in black leather with matching carpets and branded floor mats. Additional features include the leather-wrapped Raid steering wheel, a gated shifter, power locks, air conditioning and a cassette stereo.

The ad also specifies that the car has done just 31,500 km (19,000 miles) and that the dashboard was signed by the Italian carmaker’s longtime chief test driver, Valentino Balboni, himself. What more could one possibly want?
