Well before Tesla’s launched ‘Ludicrous Mode’ for its Model S and Model X back in 2016, rapper and actor Ludacris was what you immediately thought of when you heard the word.

The star of the Fast & Furious franchise has a wealth of experience with performance cars and driving fast and speaking with USA Today at CES, jokingly said that he has been trying to get a free Tesla from Elon Musk.

“We’ve been trying to get a free car out of my man Elon Musk for a long time. But ‘Ludicrous Mode’ I guess, wasn’t Ludacris mode,” he said.

If any carmaker other than Tesla launched a so-called ‘Ludicrous Mode’ for one of its vehicle, we’ve got little doubt marketing teams would have immediately got in contact with Ludacris to promote it. However, Tesla shies away from traditional promotion of this sort and has built up such a loyal fan base that all Elon Musk needs to do is send out a single tweet announcing a new model, feature, or variant for customers to rush in with orders.

The next big project on Ludacris’ calendar is Fast and Furious 9 that started filming back in late June 2019. It was back in 2016 that Vin Diesel first announced the film, revealing that it would be released on April 19, 2019. However, the film has been delayed by more than a year and is now scheduled to be released on May 22, 2020 because of the release of Hobbs & Shaw starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham last year.
