2021 GMC Yukon Teased Ahead Of Tonight’s Debut

GMC is gearing up to unveil the 2021 Yukon tonight and the company is trying to build up hype by releasing a new teaser image.

The picture isn’t very revealing, but it shows the model will follow in the footsteps of the Sierra as it will feature C-shaped headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights. Further below, we can see vertical fog lights which also carryover from the pickup truck.

The teaser doesn’t reveal much else, but previous spy photos have shown the SUV will closely echo the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban. However, there will be some minor styling changes including taillights that flow into the tailgate. It’s hard to see them in the spy photos, but the lights will mimic those on the Acadia.

The styling changes will continue in the cabin as 2021 Yukon Denali will have a unique dashboard with an integrated 10-inch infotainment system. This is notably different than the Tahoe and Suburban which have a free-standing display. The Yukon will also have a different center console, repositioned air vents and more wood trim.

Like their corporate cousins, the Yukon and Yukon XL will ride on a new platform and feature an independent rear suspension that promises to improve ride quality. The models will also grow in size and feature a more accommodating interior.

The third row seat in the standard Yukon is slated to receive an additional 10.1 inches (257 mm) of legroom and this will also help to increase cargo capacity to a generous 122.9 cubic feet (3,480 liters). The Yukon XL will be even larger and hold 144.7 cubic feet (4,097 liters) of luggage.

Under the hood, we can expect a handful of petrol and diesel engines. On the petrol side, there will be a 5.3-liter V8 that produces 355 hp (265 kW / 360 PS) and 383 lb-ft (519 Nm) of torque. Customers should also be able to opt for a 6.2-liter V8 with 420 hp (313 kW / 426 PS) and 460 lb-ft (623 Nm) of torque.

There will also be a newly available 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel engine. In the Tahoe and Suburban, it’s rated at 277 hp (207 kW / 281 PS) and 460 lb-ft (623 Nm) of torque.
