Super Bowl LIV is edging ever closer and Kia has just released a teaser trailer that previews the 60-second commercial it will air during the big game on February 2.
Kia will use its ad spot to promote the all-new 2021 Seltos although there is no mention of the SUV during this teaser. Instead, we are presented with a young boy speaking in front of a bunch of reporters discussing why he runs.
He says, “I run for my pops, a man who sacrificed so much. I run for everyone who’s ever doubted me and for those out there living on white rice and ramen noodles. I run for those that think there’s no light at the end of the tunnel. I run to show them that there is.” Your guess is as good as ours as to how these statements relate to the Kia Seltos.

The car manufacturer says the commercial “focuses on overcoming adversity to achieve the impossible dream” and that the story of the commercial is what inspired Kia to establish its ‘Yards Against Homelessness’ charitable initiative. The ad spot will air during the game’s third quarter.
Kia says the “all-new Seltos is set to energize the Entry SUV segment with a personality all its own.” It was recently revealed the SUV starts at $21,900 excluding a destination fee.
Fitted beneath the hood of entry-level models is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 146 hp and 132 lb-ft (179 Nm) of torque paired to a CVT. Higher-end models priced from $25,490 come equipped with a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder producing 175 hp and 195 lb-ft (264 Nm) of torque. These variants also use a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission as standard.
