The fourth-generation 2020 Seat Leon will premiere on January 28 at 1:00 PM EST / 7:00 PM CET and you can watch the entire reveal below.
The world, well okay, not the entire world, not even close, but a lot of people have been waiting on the new-age Leon for quite some time. Underpinning the car will be an updated version of the VW Group’s MQB platform also used by the Mk8 Golf and Skoda Octavia.

One of the most eagerly-awaited variants will be a plug-in hybrid model. Current VW Golf and Octavia PHEV models use a 1.4-liter petrol engine paired with an electric motor to deliver a combined 201 hp thanks, in part, to a 13 kWh battery pack. The Leon PHEV will likely offer up similar figures and should match the 32 miles (55 km) of electric driving of its rivals. A Cupra-badged version of this car is also expected but that model could pump out up to 241 hp, allowing it to hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in the mid-six second range.
Another high-performance Seat Leon model is expected to come in the form of a Golf R alternative using the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 328 hp as its German cousin. Other 2020 Seat Leon models will be available with an assortment of petrol and diesel engines.
A host of upgrades have been made to the Leon’s interior. For starters, there is now an all-digital gauge cluster and a large touchscreen infotainment system sitting in the center of the dashboard offering support for over-the-air updates. Seat is also particularly proud of the ambient lighting it has developed for the hatchback.
