The Mercedes-AMG One is edging ever closer to production and none other than actor Mark Wahlberg recently had the opportunity to check out the F1-powered hypercar at the Mercedes headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. It also seems as though Wahlberg is one of the lucky 275 people to have received an allocation.

The AMG One you see pictured and featured in this video is one of the German marque’s static display models and doesn’t have a running powertrain. It still looks rather amazing, however, thanks to the silver and black paint scheme adorning the aerodynamic bodywork.

While speaking to the camera, Wahlberg said it was “well worth the wait” to see the AMG One before he mentions to a Mercedes-Benz employee that he’s yet to be fitted for his custom seat for the hypercar.

Mercedes-AMG first revealed the One in 2017 with a goal of commencing customer deliveries in 2019. However, a series of delays, reportedly related to emissions and the difficulty of making an F1 powertrain work in a road car, has forced the car manufacturer to delay deliveries until 2021.

When the car does finally arrive in the hands of customers, it will feature a turbocharged 1.6-liter V6 engine working alongside a hybrid system to produce 1,000 hp. When first presented, AMG promoted the car with a top speed of over 217 mph (350 km/h) and claimed it could hit 124 mph (200 km/h) in less than six seconds but we wouldn’t be surprised if those figures have been improved in recent years.
