It is claimed that Ford is readying a V8-powered Ranger Raptor model for the Australian market and a local tuner has already started to consider how it could modify such a vehicle.
Speaking with Cars Guide, tuning company Tickford said it could install its Roush supercharger kit in the Ranger Raptor V8. It already offers this upgrade for the current Ford Mustang GT with its 5.0-liter Coyote V8 where it is good for 719 hp and 610 lb-ft (828 Nm) of torque.

“Let’s say a V8 Ranger authorized by Ford themselves through dealers does come out, we will no doubt have people coming to us saying ‘supercharge it,” Tickford group commercial director Andrew Philpott said. “We’ve supercharged Mustangs of course, and we supercharged F-150s, so we’ve had people buy V8s purely with the intent of coming here, us putting a Roush supercharger on it. There will be people who say ‘absolutely, I want the best Ranger I can get, and if I can make it more power, why not?’”
Tickford sells its 719 hp, supercharger package for the Mustang GT for AU$17,995 (US$12,098) and would likely sell the package for roughly the same in the Ranger Raptor V8.
While having a mid-size pickup truck with such extraordinary horsepower and torque figures would be amazing, the vehicle wouldn’t be cheap. In fact, it is claimed that should Ford approve a V8-powered Ranger Raptor for production, it could be priced at around AU$120,000 (US$80,676), bringing the price of a Tickford supercharged example up to around AU$140,000 (US$94,122).
